Wild Rock Area
The Wild Rock Area has the second best concentration of boulder problems on the Pass with a wide range of grades and styles.
Directions
There are two ways to approach the Wild Rock areas boulders:
1. Park in pullout 1/2 mile uphill of mile marker 52 on the right side of the road. Cross the road and follow the trail to where you walk beneath power lines. Veer left to get theJames Brown Area or head straight up through the talus to reach the Wild Rock Project wall.
2. Park in pullout ?? miles from Aspen on the right side of the road, across Hwy 82 will be a rock filled dirt road. Cross the road and follow the dirt road to a path through the woods and to the south side of the Big WIld Boulder.


Big Wild Boulder
1. Big Wild Traverse [V7] Start under the roof on the left side of the west face of the Big Wild Boulder and traverse right to finish on Black Rock City.
2. Burning Man [V1] Start low and climb through the overhang.
3. Black Rock City [V1] Start low and climb the overhanging black rock above the flat boulder.
4. Ginsu [V0]
SDS on a good flat hold and climb up good holds to a fun mantel finish.
5. Funky Chicken [V1] Start on a sharp triangle shaped hold at the 5ft level. Climb straight up to a mantel finish.
6. Moon Tide [V1]
Start the same as Chick Problem but climb straight up.
7. Chick Problem [V0]
SDS on a low blocky hold and climb right following the seam. A great warm up for the area.
8. Chiclets [V0]
SDS above a flat rock in the ground and climb to the finish of Chick Problem.
9. American Hero [V3]
A classic highball. Start 20ft right of Chick Problem where the wall turns and climb up the arete.
10. American Zero [V?] Climb the overhanging face right of the arete of American Hero.
James Brown Boulder
11. Ice-T [V3] Climbs the prow left of the tree.
12. Body Count [V0]
Technical and spicy! Climb the less than vertical face just right of the tree.
13. Wife Beater [V5]
The SDS to It's a Man's World. Start sitting with hands low on the right-angling rail and climb into and finish It's a Man's World.
14. Election Year aka I.B.M.W.A.W.T.J.T. [V?] Start the same as Wife Beater and traverse right through the starting holds of It's a Man's World to connect to and finish the arete of The Funky Presidents.
15. It's a Man's World [V5]
Start on the round hole and sloping ramp and climb up and left. The higher you climb the worse the landing gets.
16. Indecision [V?]
Start with the right hand on the small crimp 6ft left of the arete and the left hand on the really small crimp 2ft right of the round hole. Climb straight up the face inbetween It's a Man's World and Funky President.
17. Funky President [V3]
Climb the arete staying on the left side.
18. New Funky President [V3]
Climb straight up the arete. A variation( The Funky Presidents [V3] ![]()
) starts with the left hand crimp and right hand pinch and climbs up the left side of the arete halfway and transitions to the right side for the topout.
19. Sex Machine [V4]
Start on the crimp rail at 6ft and climb to the triangle shaped hold and then straight up.
20. Hot Pants [V4]
Start as for Sex Machine but head right from the triangle shaped hold to a good edge and then straight up to topout.
21. Sex Pants [V3]
Start 6ft right of Sex Machine and just left of the tree on crimps in the left-leaning seam. Climb straight up to meet the top of Sex Machine.
Sterner Stuff and Bart Boulder

25. Ay Caramba! [V3]
Stiff. SDS at the low point of the big rail and climb right, under the rim to finish on Side Show Bob.
26. Apu [V5]
SDS on edges at 3.5ft and climb straight up, avoiding the jugs on the arete.
27. Side Show Bob [V0]
Climb the arete starting on good jugs at the 5ft level.

Yardstick Boulder
1. PROJECT [V?] Climbs the arete and face left of the trees.
2. Tree Hugger [V2] SDS climbing straight up just left of the tree pair.
3. Huggies [V0] Start on good holds in the dihedral 3ft right of Tree Hugger and climb straight up.
4. Shelf Life [V4] SDS in the narrow dihedral then traverse left, staying low. Finish by climbing the left-leaning ramp.
5. Top Shelf [V3] Start as for Shelf Life but climb up then traverse left staying below the lip but above the ramp.
6. PROJECT [V?] Start 8ft left of Inseam on a big undercling mouth and make a big move up and right to a rounded slot, then move right and up on edges to top out just left of the tree.
7. PROJECT [V?] SDS below Inseam and head left on edges to top out just left of the tree.
8. Inseam [V1] Climb the thin seam starting just right of the tree and heading straight up.
9. The Yardstick [V?] Start on good crimps in the middle of the face and throw a huge dyno to the rounded lip. Massive.
10. Slam Dunk [V3] Start on good holds at the far right corner of the face and head up.
Sliderule and Darkwall Boulders

Wild Rock Project Wall
1. Count Clovis [V8] SDS on square jug under the roof above jumbled talus. Move up and left using underclings and edges to topout above the left crack.
2. Jamrock Part 1 [V7] SDS low under the roof on a right hand finger lock and a left hand undercling. move left to match the sloping mouth, then left again to crimps, finishing on the jugs of the crack. A link-up extension climbs up the crack into and finishes Count Clovis [V?].
3. Project [V?] Start with a left hand sidepull and a right hand on a high crimp and move up to a big pinch then follow the left angling roof to the top.
4. Project [V?] Starting on underclings follow crimps up the middle of the wall and topout directly
5. The Rail Project [V?] Start as for #4 and move up right to follow the rail and topout.
6. Project [V?] Start as for #3 but climb up the face to the crescent shaped hold and then a jug at the lip.
